What Does the Fox Say in Your Mother Language?

International Mother Language Day

Every year the Memsource team celebrates International Mother Language Day, and this year is no exception. In the Memsource offices, you can hear a wide variety of native languages being spoken; from Czech to Japanese, Hungarian to Italian.

This linguistic medley often leads to water-cooler conversations about how different words and phrases sound in different languages. Some of you may remember the hit Youtube song “What does the fox say?” by Norwegian comedians Ylvis. The catchy song describes a variety of animal sounds in English but in a multilingual environment, saying ”a cow goes moo” can spark a lively debate.

To celebrate our native languages, here are some of our favorite animals sounds in our mother tongues.

From all of us at Memsource, we wish you a happy International Mother Language Day!
